Snow is expected on Saturday – 2 to 4 inches expected during the day. It will warm up quickly on Sunday and turn to rain. It’s looking like heavy rain and high winds on Sunday night and Monday – winds up to 60 mph. Could be exciting!!!

Post Turkey Day
Sunday, November 25th, 2007Well, what a crappy holiday. Why? Well my favorite holiday was ruined by work. Turkey day started out good. We got things cleaned, picked up last minute food, and started cooking. Jan and Mike showed up and we hung out eating food and drinking. Later in the afternoon, the Alessi’s joined us with yummy appetizers and dessert. In the middle of my cooking, I was paged and sidetracked for 3 hours.
Little did I know that was just a small inconvenience. Friday was a bloody disaster – I ended up working from 6:30am to 9:30pm – yep, in the office the whole time. Never even got to see the boys. Saturday was slightly better, I only worked from 6:45am to 4pm – and I was at home. Sunday was the easiest day with only about 4 hours of work. Anyway, what a bummer.
Fortunately, I made sure to spend the downtime I did have with Steph, Jan, Mike, and the boys. I actually hung out the boys quite a bit which was cool. We watched some South Park videos (the World of Warcraft one rocks) and basically just hung out.
Tomorrow is Steph’s b-day but I gave her a gift today since work could be hell tomorrow. I got her an iPhone (yes, people, she did want one). We already got her number transferred and she’s been playing with it all evening.
Here are a few photos.
Nate chillin next to Auntie Jan
Zach bustin a move on the dance floor
Mike’s elf shoes…yeah, I know…big deal. But it really bugged him – so up it goes on the blog.
Movie is forthcoming.
Update Here is the movie from Thanksgiving 2007.
Turkey Day Coming
Monday, November 19th, 2007Gettin ready for turkey day. We picked up a Sheltons turkey at Thriftway…organic, free range, and all that stuff. We plan to have turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberries, and salad. Our neighbors are bringing appetizers and dessert. Jan and Mike are bringing whiskey – well they are from Oregon
This last weekend was mellow. We all had colds and it was raining out most of the time. We cleaned house, Paul worked a lot, and basically bummed around.
Zach is doing well with counting from 1 to 10 and even recognizing numbers. He knows and recognizes some letters in the alphabet. As for potty training, no real progress there. He likes sitting on the potty but nothing comes out.
Nate has been talking in the morning. He usually starts around 6am conversing with himself for over an hour. No crying or whining, just baby talk. He smiles and laughs a lot and he’s almost always a happy baby. He generally only fusses when he needs food, diaper change, tired, or sick (ie a cold). He is not sitting up yet but he is rolling over in one direction.
Steph has to cook soup for work tomorrow. Basically setting up a crock pot with canned soup – think she can handle it?
As for me, I got a new phone – a newer blackberry. Other than that work has been busy. Don’t know if I mentioned it earlier, but I now manage our team of system engineers and database administrators. I’ve been playing catch up over the last few weeks but definitely enjoying it.
That’s all for now – sorry, no new pictures or movies.
More High Winds
Monday, November 12th, 2007From the NWS
...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 4 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON.. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SEATTLE HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 4 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON. THE HIGH WIND WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. THE FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW IS EXPECTED TO MOVE THROUGH THE AREA EARLY THIS AFTERNOON WITH STRONG SURFACE PRESSURE RISES BEHIND THE FRONT. SOUTH WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WITH POSSIBLE GUSTS TO 60 MPH ARE EXPECTED WITH AND JUST BEHIND THE FRONT. THE HIGH WINDS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO LAST VERY LONG. AT THIS TIME IT LOOKS LIKE THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE IN A THREE HOUR WINDOW BETWEEN 10 AM AND 4 PM. WINDS WILL DIMINISH SIGNIFICANTLY AFTER 4 PM.
BTW, the NWS is saying the winds are eerily calm before the front…We already had some high winds from 4:30am to 6:00am but those have died off…guess this is the calm before the storm.
Latest Movie of the Boys
Sunday, November 11th, 2007Here is a movie (two movies put together) of the boys playing this morning.
BTW – Nate rolled over from front to back last night for the time. Woohooo!
For the record, Dominic was the one who got Nate to role over. He held a little toy in front of his face and moved it. Nate followed the movement and rolled over.
This morning, I took Zach to the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field. We are members so we can go whenever we want. Zach definitely enjoyed it more than in the past. He wasn’t much for looking at any one plane but he preferred to bolt through the place. They have a kids zone where he can sit in real planes (they are small) and move the yoke.
Then we went to Skylark for brunch – daddy wanted the tater tots. Zach had a pancake and made an interesting syrup and ketchup mixture for dipping…Yummm!
Sleepy Nate
Saturday, November 10th, 2007Here is a picture of Nate sleeping on mom’s lap.
Late Halloween Photos
Monday, November 5th, 2007We actually didn’t get many photos on Halloween – we were busy with all of the kids.
Zach playing with toys. What a messy face.
This is what trick or treating does to a 4 month old.
Not much new going on. We were around the house this weekend – cleaning and watching football. I took Nate to a sports bar on Saturday morning to meet some friends for breakfast and to watch some college football.
This Friday night we are actually going to the theater (seeing Into the Woods). A very rare parents night out – can’t wait!
Nate on WSB!!!
Thursday, November 1st, 2007Our very own Nate made it on a public blog…Check it out at http://westseattleblog.com/blog/?p=3935.
Tonight we’ll add our own Halloween pictures!
